vtested is a site for rating experiences and comparing ratings with friends. This page explains what we collect, why, who can see it, and how to take it with you or delete it.
What we collect
From Google, when you sign in. Your name, email address and profile picture. We ask Google only for these basic profile details. We never see your Google password, and we do not access your Gmail, Drive, Calendar, contacts or any other Google data.
What you give us. Your handle, display name and bio; the experiences you rate and everything on each card (scores, notes, date, place, price, who you were with); your friend requests, friendships and blocks; the outings you create and the friends you tag in them.
What the site creates. Notifications (for example, that a friend tagged you) and the timestamps of when you rated or changed something.
We do not use analytics, advertising trackers or tracking pixels, and we do not collect your location.
How we use it
- To sign you in and keep you signed in.
- To show your ratings, compute scores and comparisons, and display them to the people you have chosen to share them with.
- To let friends find you by handle or name, send you requests and tag you in outings.
We do not sell your information, rent it, or share it with advertisers.
Who can see what
- Your profile (handle, display name, picture, bio) is visible to anyone, so friends can find you.
- Each rating has its own visibility: public (anyone), friends (people you have accepted as friends) or private (only you). New ratings use the default you set in Settings, which starts as public. You can change any rating at any time.
- Your email address is never shown to other members.
- Outings are visible to the person who created them, the people tagged in them, and anyone who can see a rating attached to them.
- If you block someone, neither of you can see the other’s ratings or tag the other.
These rules are enforced by the database itself, not just by the pages you see.
Where it is stored, and who processes it
- Supabase stores the database and handles sign-in. Data is stored in the United States (Ohio).
- Vercel hosts and serves the website.
- Google provides sign-in, and serves the site’s fonts (your browser requests them from Google Fonts).
- Catalog sources (the Open Pinball Database, TMDB, Captain Coaster and Google Places) receive the search text you type when looking something up. They do not receive your name, email or ratings.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. There are no advertising or analytics cookies.
Your choices
- Export: download everything you have rated, as JSON or CSV, from your Log or from Settings.
- Edit or delete a rating at any time.
- Delete your account from Settings. This permanently removes your profile, ratings, friendships, notifications and the outings you created. Catalog entries you added (such as a restaurant name) stay in the shared catalog without your name attached.
- Revoke access at any time from your Google Account under Security, Third-party apps.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account exists. When you delete your account, it is removed from the live database right away. Our hosting providers’ routine backups may hold copies for a short period before they expire.
Children
vtested is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Google user data
vtested’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use your Google name, email and picture only to create and show your vtested account, and never transfer them to others except as needed to run the service described here.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update the date above and note the change on the site. Questions or requests: kprincell@gmail.com.
